KIBOSH

Kibosh (n): Childish/ Kibosh (v): To act childishly. e.g - I would rather be a child, then go about kiboshing in old days! Lets see what's better in our store of invented meanings.

Squall(v) : 1. Make high-pitched, whiney noises
2. Utter a sudden loud cry
3. Blow in a squall
Squall(n): Sudden violent winds; often accompanied by precipitation

Our new guest this time is nhorkin. Do get yourselves introduced, guys! Utpal Datta is the winner in our poll for 'Squall', but everyone this time came up with real wacky meanings. Congratulations Utpal!

SQUALL

Squall is a short pleated skirt with a slit in the right side and a pocket on the left. What do you say?
Pleach is form or weave into a braid or braids. There were only four invented meanings and I chose Urmila's as the best. Congratulations girl!

PLEACH

Pleach (adverb): used in a polite request, especially while proposing an Indian girl. e.g. "Will you marry me, pleach?" I think you can come up with something much better.
Moue is a disdainful grimace, a synonym for pout. Tired waiting for meanings, I decided not to go for a poll this time. It's girl power that wins! Urmila, Priyanka and Bandita - you girls, rock! Congratulations!

MOUE

Moue is a species of blind rat, the first of the species having their tails cut by the farmer's wife! Did ever you see such a thing in your life as cute little moues? That's the easiest I could think of.
Urmila and Smita are our new guests and they have come up with admirable meanings.
Astir as an adjective means (a) out of bed and (b) on the move. e.g. 'Are they astir yet?"/ "The whole town was astir over the incident."
Urmila's meaning was voted as the most favourite in the polls. Congratulations Urmila!

ASTIR

Astir (noun): New star in our galaxy. Emerald green in colour, it glows in the sky like a neon dot.
Astir (verb): Interfere in the middle of a conversation. e.g. It's improper to go about astiring.

Well, I love to keep thinking and dish out more such inventions. But nothing's fun when you play alone. We are a few friendly neigbours meeting for tea everyday, and we often invite others to join. But taste varies, for sure! Come what may, we will play, perhaps not everyday from now onwards. It's a tripartite tie in wordology terms between Utpal, Priyanka and Bandita. Excellent meanings, but this time Utpal was short of admirers, I guess! Priyanka's meaning was quite close to negativity as the real.
Harpy is a malicious woman with a fierce temper. Also, large black-and-white crested eagle of tropical America or any of various fruit bats distinguished by nostrils drawn out into diverging tubes.

HARPY

Now, Harpy is the new treatment invented for Herpes by the students of Minneapolis University. Couldn't come up with a better one this time. But you can let your imagination flow. Great meanings for Cabal and it was good to welcome new guests this time, though they were a little late for the polls. Cabal (noun) is a clique (often secret) that seeks power usually through intrigue and cabal (verb) is to engage in plotting or enter into a conspiracy, swear together.
Utpal Datta won hands down with eight votes! Congratulations Utpal!

CABAL

Cabal is woolen scarf knitted in a criss-cross manner in multi coloured wool. Woven specially by the womenfolk of Mozambique.
Thank you all for the brilliant support in the first game. FUGU is a blowfish, highly priced as a delicacy in Japan, but highly dangerous because the skin and organs are poisonous. Lovely meanings, guys! I promised three in the poll list, but time elapsed and polling had to be closed. Nilim and Eric john came up with brilliant meanings and Utpal's was quite innovative.
